After a formal education in Architecture Dave Rittinger's interest and ideas have drawn him into the world of art making. He currently works with two legendary American conceptual artists and sculptors Dennis Oppenheim and Alice Aycock. With Dennis and Alice Dave has worked on speculative and commissioned public art projects all over the world while continuing to operate on his own conceptual work that embraces various mediums from film to sculpture, installation and still image. His open-ended process and curious mind yield diverse and unexpected works that often tap into the psyche of objects, giving them power to subvert reality in their physical environments. Dave enjoys finding unique, simple and clever ways of extracting and reinterpreting the inner feelings or tendencies of his objects and surroundings into animated works that provoke a new set of relationships to interpret and appreciate.

Dave was born near Buffalo New York in 1984, but developed an affinity for Nature while being raised in the pine barrens of New Jersey. He then spent five years in Newark NJ attending NJIT School of Architecture where Nature, people and the built environment seemed to all be angry with each other. He won numerous scholarships, was a finalist in an international design competition, and received the Dean's Design Award. He now resides and works in Brooklyn NY with his wife Rebecca and son Heath.
