Dave Rittinger is an artist and designer living and working in Brooklyn NY. After a formal education in Architecture Dave's interest and ideas have drawn him into the world of art making. He currently works with American artist Alice Aycock and previously with Dennis Oppenheim. With Dennis and Alice Dave has worked on speculative and commissioned public art projects all over the world while continuing to operate on his own concept based work that embraces various mediums from film to sculpture, installation and still image. His open-ended process and curious mind yield diverse and unexpected works that often tap into the psyche of objects or places, giving them power to subvert reality in their physical environments. Dave enjoys finding unique, simple and clever ways of extracting and reinterpreting the inner feelings or tendencies of his objects and surroundings into animated works that provoke a new set of relationships to interpret and appreciate.

Dave was born near Buffalo New York in 1984, but developed an affinity for Nature while being raised in the pine barrens of New Jersey. He spent five years in Newark NJ attending NJIT School of Architecture where he won numerous scholarships received the Dean's Design Award, and has since been a finalist in two international design competitions.
